IF - Underfell
Welcome to Underfell.
Play as a customizable "Frisk" who has fallen into Mt. Ebott: a mountain that houses a kingdom of banished monsters. These monsters resent and distrust humanity, most will attack any human on sight.
You have no way to climb back out: you can only move forward.
The story:
Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMAN and MONSTERS. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.
This was all part of your history class.
There are multiple monster kingdoms, although only one in your country—as far as history is aware—and where exactly they are sealed no one knows. One of the many mysteries lost to time.
Or rather to war. Specifically the Great War which took its terrible toll on humanity. Since sealing the monsters centuries ago fewer and fewer humans are born with the ability to use magic. The Great War nearly wiped out the rarities that remained, and since the war, no other human has been born with the ability to use magic.
Which is truly a shame as the world is still filled with magic.
Humanity is coping as best can be, but it is not an easy transition. What countries remain after the Great War are largely dependent on magic; switching to an alternative power source has been a struggle.
The last humans who can use magic are struggling to keep up with the demand, and their aging bodies only signal humanity's time limit.
You, like most of the population, cannot use magic.
But that’s okay!
You don’t need magic.
You have something else. Something even better.
You have you.
The romance (OPTIONAL - platonic / friendship routes are available):

- A crass skeleton monster who replaced his funny bone with a mean bone. He (reluctantly) works as a guard for several sentry posts.
- Be careful if you choose to trust him.

- A confident skeleton monster who strives to meet the expectations imposed upon him (several from himself).
- He seems oddly... remorseful?
- MAJOR - Flowey (M)
- An anxious flower monster who agrees to be your guide in UNDERFELL.
- He doesn’t want to leave your side.

I just really, really wanted to play the game and I feel like it'll never happen unless I make it myself.

Just binged this game for the first time playing the True End Asriel route and it's easily peak fiction, it's such a good parallel to normal Undertale while also being recognizable as its own thing and paying tribute to the AU it's based on, I loved every second of it
I'm planning on going through every romance route available (I'm doing my boy Sans last or close to last, to finish on a high note), I can't wait to do it

That... was... AWESOME. I need to complete the Asriel romance, but I just had to follow my heart and romance my vertabaes first. From what I remember of the original Underfell AU, before I drowned it in reader-insert fanfic, everyone feels so faithfully rendered. Your writing was charming and captures the essence of Undertale and this AU as magnificently as a fan-author possibly could.
I'm very excited to try out the other ones. You are a delightful writer. May you remain filled with DETERMINATION!
[P.S. I think there was an error. It looked like there was meant to be an input during the Post-Judgement scene in the Judgement Hall with Sans. I don't know if I have a save before it, but if I do and can recreate it, I'd happily supply a copy of the save to see what went wrong.]
Hiiii ! Firstly I love this game, it's beautifully written and I couldn't describe how I felt about each routes. They were so rich and amazing to go through: thanks darkpetals for this amazing writing, I'm so invested in your works omg. Like I tried each IF you made and they were all so good. ✨✨✨
Secondly, it's just a question like that : I tried each routes in this game, and I wanted to do Mettaton's, though each time I tried, it goes on the friendship/Wingding routes. I can't find a playthrough (since I believe Mettaton's route is quite recent and it hasn't been updated since Grillby's), I succeeded in having a flirty interaction (?) with him, though it never got further. I don't know what to do anymore.🫠
If anyone knows how to get through it, I'd rather appreciate your guidance, thank you in advance.

Hi ! I think that's an error.
It happened to me once, though by playing you'll notice that the nickname he is supposed to give you depends on the action you took when meeting him : like if you have chosen to flirt openly, he'd call you "dollface", but if you have chosen to be bashful, he'd opt for "sweetheart" instead. I don't quite recall how I happened to get the "sansfirstnickname" thingy though.
